The first day of three days in the Adirondacks.
Just a perfect day for hiking. The best part was the exciting 15 minute glissade down from Nippletop to Elk Pass pond. Joy and bliss! Nearing Colvin's summit I recognized an elderly lady from last week's hike. She explained she couldn't reach the summit due to the final icy slope (the "Colvin Step"). Too bad I wasn't there sooner because I would've given her a boost. She missed great views from Colvin. Blake was it usual low-key self. The ladders were exposed and usable; the snow was very soft on Colvin's south side.
8h 35m for the loop. Great day!
